MFL Overview

What are we going to learn?

Nursery and Reception children - Learn French through songs and basic games.

Key Stage 1- Build on simple vocabulary taught in the EYFS such as answering the register or greeting each other in French at the beginning of each morning.

Key Stage 2 –Timetabled French lesson each week to develop language skills further.

In addition to offering French lessons to all classes children in year 6 have the opportunity to apply to become a language captain. These children are given the opportunity to apply their French skills across a range of contexts.
